Potato Virus A (PVA) is a plant pathogenic virus of the family Potyviridae which causes a mild mosaic on potato plants.

PVA can cause a severe mosaic when combined with Potato Virus X (PVA, sometimes with distorted or crinkled leaves.

PVA, like many potato viruses is transmitted by aphids.

Vulnerable / Immune Varieties

Some potato varieties such as Desiree are fairly vunerable to PVA, but many others are immune.

PVA can only be controlled by virus testing and classification.
